About Dr GrossbardDr Grossbard has more than 25 years experience providing psychotherapy and counseling within diverse settings. Initially working in the field of health planning and administration, he became a volunteer paraprofessional counselor at the Southern California Counseling Center. He discovered that he had a greater interest and passion in helping and working with people as a counselor and therapist. Dr Grossbard received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California Graduate Institute. He has been a licensed psychologist since 1997. He currently maintains a private practice in Santa Monica, and has been in private practice since 1997. Dr Grossbard has been an individual therapist since 2012 for people in need of residential and day psychiatric treatment at Psychological Care and Healing Center in Los Angeles. He was a psychologist working with adults for 15 years at Santa Clarita Valley Mental Health Center in Valencia. Dr Grossbard was an AB3632 Program Assessor, providing psychosocial assessments to children and adolescents in public schools with behavioral and emotional difficulties. He has been a counselor and case manager at The Life Adjustment Team in Culver City providing psychosocial rehabilitation to adults with chronic mental illness. Dr Grossbard worked as a Career Counselor at the UCLA Placement and Career Planning Center, and provided psychological assessments to children and adolescents at Vista Psychological Center. Dr Grossbard received a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in 1999 from the Los Angeles Institute and Society For Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS). He has participated in study groups and case consultation for psychoanalytic psychotherapy and dream interpretation. Dr Grossbard is Certified in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and served on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Society For Clinical Hypnosis. Dr Grossbard has an interest in mindfulness as a tool for focused attention and awareness, and has studied classical mindfulness with Dr Lobsang Rapgay a psychologist who served as an assistant to the Dalai Lama. |
